Dear Gene,

I'm not going to even mention the price hike on tickets. I'm sure you already know what the fan base thinks of that.

Instead, I'm going to address color schemes for the home games.

Moderation in all things, brother. Color schemes are cool a couple of times a year, not every home game. Let's do it for the big games like Oregon. Call me a rebel but I don't like being told what color to wear every game. Additionally, color schemes only work for warm weather games. They do not work in November. Every Bronco fan worth his salt has blue and orange shirts. Not everyone has a blue coat and an orange coat. Many have neither. The color schemes have failed time and again in the cold months.

What is a 180 DB to do?

I am seriously stoked to watch Mike play this next season. Many of the graduating seniors have expressed nothing but enthusiasm about his skills, potential, and playing with abandonment. This is a kid who, if he can improve his endurance, will terrorize opposing offenses. We'll also be in for a big treat any time they put him in at offense. He's either going to plow through for some big yardage or cause the defense to key in on him, opening up other opportunities. The next four years should be very amusing.

Spring 2009 Blue and Orange Game

This year's Blue and Orange...er...White game saw an fun new format change. Instead of 1O/2D vs 2O/1D, Coach Pease and Coach Kwiatkowski got to draft their teams. Now, I've got to be honest: I didn't think the White team had a chance. I figured the Blue team would roll them. I was pleasantly surprised when the White team pulled it out in the fourth quarter (of course it didn't hurt when Coach Pete notionally "injured" a few stars from the Blue team). It was a fun format change and I hope we'll see it become a tradition.

I had the pleasure of visiting with Tommy Gallarda's father during a layover in Minneapolis earlier that day. We found the Gallarda family after the scrimmage and Seth was pleased to get to meet Tommy. The family is very down to earth and friendly.


We informed Bacon that the SEZ idiots were adopting him now that Joe Boz had graduated.
